Voynich E.L. Ovod. Trilogija (serija Bol'shie knigi)

Author Voynich E.L.
Title Ovod. Trilogija (serija Bol'shie knigi)
Description He was young and naïve, in love, filled with ideas of freedom and romantic illusions. He was deceived, slandered, rejected, and despised. After disappearing and faking his own suicide, he returned to his homeland thirteen years later under another name, with a disfigured face, a shattered destiny, and a heart marked by suffering. To the people he had once known and loved deeply, he appeared as a mocking cynic writing under the sharp and memorable journalistic pseudonym the Gadfly. Few were able to see behind this mask the passionate, impulsive, and noble nature of a man who had remained faithful to the ideals of his youth.

The Gadfly (1897) was the first and is generally considered the finest novel by the English writer Ethel Lilian Voynich. Thirteen years later, Voynich returned to the fate of her protagonist in An Interrupted Friendship (1910), which tells of his life in South America. Several decades later, the final novel in the celebrated Gadfly cycle appeared: Put Off Thy Shoes (1945), centered on Beatrice Telford, the great-grandmother of the legendary hero.
