| Title | Zolotaja Adel' |
| Description | Péter Nádas, born in 1942, is one of the central figures of contemporary Hungarian and European literature, and throughout his career he has also worked extensively in the essay form. This volume brings together some of the finest examples of his intellectual prose, in which his attention moves through a remarkably broad field of culture and thought, extending from philosophy and anthropology to theatre and photography. A separate section is devoted to essays on literature and individual writers, and the closing part of the book gathers texts and interviews in which Nádas reflects on his own work, offering valuable insight into the origins and inner construction of his novels A Book of Memories (1986) and Parallel Stories (2005), both widely regarded as major achievements of neo-modernist prose. |
