| Description | Yevgeny Ivanovich Zamyatin (1884-1937) was a prominent Russian and Soviet writer, publicist, literary critic, and naval engineer. He entered the history of world literature as the founder of the dystopian genre, whose works anticipated the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century. Throughout his life, Zamyatin was an "inconvenient" writer, fighting for his right to independent thought and the "real truth," which, according to Dostoevsky, is "always implausible."
This edition includes works written at various times in his life: novellas, short stories, and fairy tales, as well as the novels "We" and "The Scourge of God." |
