Tavrov A. Tom 2. Plach po Blejku

Author Tavrov A.
Title Tom 2. Plach po Blejku
Description Andrei Tavrov (1948–2023) was a Russian poet, prose writer and essayist, a vivid representative of the literary movement of metarealism, or metaphorical and metaphysical realism. A graduate of Moscow State University, he combined literary work with editorial activity, heading the poetry series of the Russky Gulliver publishing house and the literary journal Gvideon. He was the author of numerous poetry collections, novels and the philosophical Letters on Poetry. His work was marked by deep metaphor, philosophical reflection on the world and mysticism. In 2019, he became a laureate of the prestigious Andrei Bely Prize.

The second volume of Andrei Tavrov’s collected works includes three of his books, as well as the poetry cycles. Here the poet appears in the full force of his metaphorical power, on the path towards creating a personal and universal epic. In Olga Balla’s words, “the ever-growing complication of the verbal and semantic structures in Tavrov’s texts, the fact that the word in his work is so overstrained and polysemous, is caused by what truly interests him, by what becomes the object of his unceasing efforts and attention: something non-verbal.” “For the word to exist, there must be that which existed before the word, that which surpasses it,” the author himself said. The collected works were compiled by Andrei Tavrov during his lifetime.
